# How fast does an Expansion develop?

The expansion rate depends on the following factors:

* The amount of Expansion Power invested in it
* The total amount of positive influences
* The total amount of negative influences

**Positive influences** include the user's Spaces located in the Expansion zone.\
**Negative influences** include other users' Spaces and competing Expansions in the same area.\
\
Also, by clicking on an Expansion, you can open up its detailed view and examine each factor that affects it a positive or negative manner.\
\
Each Space has a certain inherent Expansion 'capture speed'. The basic rule is this: **the more expensive the Space, the longer it takes to capture it** (or, in other words) - the more Expansion Power is required in order to capture it faster.\
